Bella Moss Foundation is supporting the antibiotic amnesty 2022

Antibiotic Amnesty

Antibiotics are essential to treat many conditions in both humans and animals. But they must be used carefully, to ensure they are effective when patients really need them. If not used responsibly, antibiotics lead to danger and disposing of unwanted antibiotics must be carefully done. For information see vet antibioticamnesty – RUMA CA&E . Please share this information using hashtags #antibioticamnesty

Thank you for your support.

Antimicrobial resistance is an increasing problem worldwide, affecting both human and animal health. An Antibiotic Amnesty is running throughout November 2022 to encourage clients to return unused and out-of-date antibiotic medications prescribed for their pets to their local veterinary practice. This will allow correct and safe disposal of the antibiotic medications, which will avoid contamination of the environment and inappropriate antibiotic use.

We are also conducting a survey to try to understand why pet owners may have unused antibiotic medication at home and how it is currently disposed of. The survey is available via the following link and QR code and is being hosted by the Responsible use of Medicines Alliance – Companion Animals & Equine (RUMA CA&E).

The survey can be accessed using the QR code below. We will not collect any personal data about you or your pet.

GRAM logo with CEVA

At Ceva Animal Health, we believe that antibiotics should be used "as little as possible and only as much as necessary". To help veterinarians choose the most appropriate antibiotic for a condition and to help combat antimicrobial resistance, we teamed up with a panel of veterinary experts and developed GRAM - Guidance for the Rational Use of Antimicrobials.

GRAM is free to access and provides a practical guide to the management of infectious diseases in dogs and cats, with 37 disease fact sheets showing the most common bacterial involved, the diagnostic process and responsible antibiotic treatment options. The website also contains webinars, "how to" videos, case examples, and much more.

Discover GRAM: Your go-to resource for easy, expert-driven guidance on treating common diseases in dogs and cats with practical antibiotic recommendations.
