Please help us “Remember Bella” this coming Sunday – August 23

Saturday 22nd August 2015
Dear supporters, For the past nine years The Bella Moss Foundation has worked tirelessly to help pet owners in crisis, when their beloved animals have been suffering antibiotic resistant infections, as well as educating veterinary and medical professionals about infection control. Reliant on help from supporters and kind industry sponsors and with barely any funds, we field calls and emails from owners around the world and put them in touch with the very best veterinary help. We produce education lectures, guidance and tools for vets and vet nurses, and work with industry and government to make sure the risk of antibiotic-resistance infection of pets, and from people-to-pets and back, is not ignored. This coming Sunday, August 23, marks the date Bella Moss, the much-loved dog of Jill, died – becoming the first known case of a dog to perish of MRSA. Sadly, there is no good data or research to tell us how many pets end up like Bella, but we know there are still hundreds of cases out there. Every year we try and mark the anniversary of Bella's death, and call on friends to help us spread our messages about good hygiene and good vet practice. This year, we are going digital – we are calling on everyone to help mark this coming Sunday by adding a Bella Moss “twibbon” to their social media profiles on Twitter and Facebook. By proudly displaying our orange “Remember Bella” twibbon on your pages, we hope to spread the word about the charity, and make sure Bella's legacy goes on to educate and help more people. (And here's an example of our trustee Emma, wearing her twibbon on her Twitter profile, attached.) You can download the twibbon on to your profile by visiting: https://twibbon.com/Support/remember-bella-2015 We'd also like you to join us in using the hashtag #RememberBella15 this Sunday, and directing friends and colleagues to The Bella Moss Foundation website. Please help us beat the bugs and keep up the fight against antimicrobial resistance. We need you to help us #RememberBella15. All our love, Jill, Emma and the Bella Moss team
